The Barn Bio Market, Brussels. Is this the future of urban shopping?

The Barn Bio Market in Brussels is quite a new concept in urban food retail.  Well actually, it’s not – it’s simply how it used to be: a covered market selling local, organic food products. This is circular economy in the truest sense in that it has come full circle since the advent of industrial scale commercial food retail with its corresponding high food miles, over-packaged food and anonymous provenance.

Judging by the popularity of the store and its excellent loose unpackaged displays and high quality produce, this is surely something that will appear in more and more cities.
